Finally BET, Something That's Worth Mentioning.

BET has officially picked up The Game for an all new season, with episodes slated to air next year.  So excited and happy that I can finally say I'm proud of BET for stepping up their game and picking up The Game!  Mara Brock Akil is one of our best executive producers and show creators in the business, with a staff of exceptional writers, costumers, and actors alike.  And the way that these "other" networks cancel our favorite shows to make room for more "other" shows that are already saturating the market is beyond me.

The CW Network just up and canceled Girlfriends.  This was a show that matched The Cosby Show in longevity, Friends in popularity (amongst the African American community), and Sex and the City in setting fashion trends.  To cancel such a relevant show without a proper series ending was just so disrespectful to the success of that show.  And to then do the same to The Game one season later after a very successful story line says a lot about how disposable our demographic is to the higher ups.

Kudos to BET for taking the reins and finally making good on a programming promise that Reginald Hudlin made when he became the new HNIC.

p.s.  I'm still waiting for that proper series ending to Girlfriends... ;-}
