{love, hearts, glitter, flowers, pastry}

I know this is a show from two seasons ago, but I had to post anyway.  This should tell you about my infatuation with Sonia Rykiel.  The 79 year old french designer celebrated her 40 years of my kinda fashion with a happy birthday party and fashion show for the Spring/Summer 2009 Collection at the Parc de Saint-Cloud in Paris.  At the end of the show the designer was surprised by a 30pc collection designed in her honor by fellow fashion designers, Jean Paul Gaultier, Ralph Lauren, Jeremy Scott, Rodarte, Martin Margiela, Lanvin, Giorgio Armani, Christian Lacroix, and Chanel. *smile*

watch the full fashion show below in 3 parts and a bonus clip with commentary from Sonia Rykiel.

On November 25th, Chanel opened a new 5160-square-foot boutique in Shanghai at the newly opened Peninsula Hotel.  The new store designed by Architect Peter Marino was inspired by the infamous Rue Cambon, Coco Chanel's Paris apartment, with rooms devoted to ready-to-wear, evening wear, accessories, and shoes.

To celebrate the store's opening, Karl Lagerfeld has designed exclusive products that will only be sold at the Shanghai location.  And the excitement doesn't stop there.  On December 3rd, Lagerfeld will be showing his latest collection entitled 'The Paris-Shanghai Fashion Show', with the collection being dominated by red as a tribute to the Chinese market.

In addition, Chanel has set up a mini site so that consumers can get a behind the scenes look at the design process and a peek inside Coco Chanel's apartment.  In total, there will be 13 behind the scenes episodes for the true Chanel fan to view on the website with 7 currently up and running.  A short film directed by Karl Lagerfeld will always premiere on December 3rd.
